Thirty years ago, when I started Capital House Clearance with a simple belief that cleared items should be rehomed rather than dumped, most people thought I was mad. Why go to the effort of reusing items when you could just dump them?

But it was never really about effort — it was about doing the right thing. Every wardrobe, every box of books, every piece of furniture has a life beyond the property it’s being cleared from. Finding that next life for it has always been at the heart of everything I do.

Thirty years later, the world is finally starting to come around to that way of thinking. I’ve been living it the whole time.
